Manuscript, on paper, containing 1955 of Trapp's short commentaries on a variety of religious subjects, including observations on death, immortality, historical events, and descriptions of early Christian practices and persons. Many entries make disparaging comments about Roman Catholicism; the 924th commentary, for example, declares, "Walter Rawleigh said, were I to chuse a religion to gratify the flesh, I would chuse popery," and the 734th entry notes that "Valladerius, one of popes Parasites, saith of Paul the 5th, that he was a god, and Lived familiarly with the God-head, heard predestination itself, Whispering to him, had a place to sit in Counsel with the Blessed Trinity. Horred Blasphemy." The 291st entry records the "Roman regester"'s description of Christ as "somwhat tall, his hair, the Collour of the rype Hazel-nut, his forehead smooth and plain, his face without wrinkle, mixt with moderate Red, his eyes gray."
